This is how we knew Blake was on the road to recovery :)
You can't feel too bad and have these sweet moves!

Thank you all for your prayers and encouragement. Blake is feeling SO much better today and though the old hives are still kind of there, I haven't seen any new ones today.

The Drama Continues.....

I can honestly say the past few weeks have been very trying for me.

Saturday morning we woke up (Nick had been gone a full week and just gotten home late Friday night) and Blake had what we thought were little bites on her, probablly around 15 all together.  Nick and I were so freaked out.  We were thinking something had gotten in her bed and bitten her.  We got creams and all sorts of stuff from Walgreens to put on them, stripped her room and bedding just in case there was a bug or something in there.  We gave her a little Benadryl and put her down for a nap.

When she woke up she looked like this.

Huge splotches ALL over.  On her face, arms, legs, but concentrated to her knees, elbows, and wrists.  My parent had gotten here that morning (a 6 hour trip for them), but we knew we had to pack Blake up and take her to the urgent care clinic.  The doctor said it just looked like an allergic reaction, to what we have no idea (which to me is the really scarey part).  I've never been terribly concerned with allergic reactions, she's had peanut butter and strawberries, pretty much everything and never had any kind of reaction.

Anyway, she's on streoids and whoping doses of Benadryl to try to get this reaction under control. It still looks pretty bad and she is definately miserable.  She's puffy and swollen and feels just like she looks. I feel so bad that my parents came all this way for a sick baby (though they say over and over to quit feeling bad).

I would love to post a LONG blog of complaining and whining from my end, but I'm kind of on the verge of tears and don't want to go full out in to a sob so I won't.  I'll just say being a parent comes with so much anxiety and worry, I daily give it to God, but it's no easy thing.

At the end of the day of the end of the week you have gone without your best friend (i.e. nick) you will do anything to make it happily to bed time....tonight it included taking Boppy out for a stroll.

Tuesday and Wednesday with Blake and Lane

~and a big shout out to the daddy's who are out of town.

Blake helping Lane put her shoes back on.

I was trying to get them both to look up so I yelled "LOOK!!" and this is the expression I got.

Monday with Blake and Lane

I was able to snap a few quick shots of these buddies today:

What fun these two had today, so much playing (and even sharing!) They both took LONG naps and loved spending a whole day together.

18 Month Checkup

We went to see Dr. Davis again today.  Blake's ears aren't that much better so he's changing her antibiotic to a stronger one,  hopefully she will be feeling better in a few days.

Here are the numbers

Height 34.5 inches (95th percentile)

Weight 24.4 pounds (25-50th percentile)

Yesterday I worked and Nick was feeling sick too so he stayed home with Blake.  I guess she had done okay for him (still fussy, but ok)....UNTIL I got home, oh my goodness....I've never in my life seen her so fussy/mad/frustrated/whiney.  She wanted absolutely nothing to do with me. That is the first time something like that has happened with us and I took it pretty hard, how could my baby that I love more than life not want me?  After a few hours of this I decdided to get out of the house and just try to focus on something else so I went to Walmart and did a little grocery shopping.  (Thanks Nick).  This morning she's back to her "I love Mommy" self.  Thank goodness.  I'm sure it's all from the pain from her ears, but man it's hard.

On a happier note, how many of you know this  little guy?

He is all the rage at our house.  Blake probably says "El-MO" 50 times in a day.  We try to watch Sesame Street but when Grover or Cookie Monster comes on she yells for Elmo to come back. Even her Elmo DVD doesn't have quite enough Elmo in it for her.  So welcome to the family Elmo, I think you are a keeper!

Blake and her friend Lane will be going to swimming lessons starting in a few weeks. Here are the girls last summer "swimming"...I'm sure the lessons this year will have more water.
