Jesus help us...

Being in the field I am (ICU nurse) I get to experience people at their worst, I know that, I know that when you are with a family member and they are sick and often faced with their own mortality that you may become so frightened, so stressed that you would act in a way that you usually wouldn't...but oh my goodness...today, oohh today.  

Without too much info, there is a family that has been on our unit over a month hanging on when they should let go...hanging on and hanging on and hanging on and being extremely rude and mean to everyone they can get their hands on...which is fine, it happens, BUT they also claim christianity.  They have crosses and bible verses on the walls and it makes my heart break.  We have non-believers that are seeing this and saying "yeah, that's what Christians are like.."  

My reason for this post is that one of their posters says "Faith that is not tried cannot be trusted"...and I'm wondering what you guys think of that?  Do you think that is true, that if your faith is not tried it is not true?  I can't think of where it says this in the bible, so if it is please let me know if it is.  So think it over..."faith that is not tried cannot be trusted"  and give me your input.  (yes, that means some of you are going to have to break down and sign up to blogger so you can leave your thoughts!!!)

This morning was Blake's 6 month check up...

Here are the numbers
 
Length:  27 7/8 inches (90-95th percentile)

Weight:  17 lb 10 oz (75-90th percentile)

Head circumference:  17" (50-75th percentile)

The doc said Blake looks great! He commented that she was going to be a big baby :)
which I already know, I carry her around!! She had to have 4 shots and cried sooo pitiful, it just breaks my heart, my vote is for Nick to have to take her for her 9 month appointment (he has yet to have to go when she's had shots...lucky)

She's sleeping it off now...

I survived a weekend away from both Nick and Blake, Nick was able to take her home to see his grandparents and parents...I'll post pics soon.  It was sooo exciting seeing her lastnight after two whole days.

This coming weekend my Dad and Stepmom are coming for a visit, that's 3 weeks in a row Blake has been able to see her grandparents!!  We can't wait!

A Very Late Happy Mother's Day

Mother's day was very special because we were able to dedicate Blake at our church.  It basically means we are dedicating her to Christ and dedicating to raise her according to God's word.

We had a restful afternoon with lots of play time and napping together...I am so thankful to be her MOM!!

Happy 1/2 Birthday Blaker!

Today, Blake turns   months old!  
She is such a BIG girl!  I can't believe we've had the blessing of raising such a precious sweetheart

My family is always calling Blake "Little Sarah", then when we see Nick's family they
 go on about how much she looks like Nick as a baby.  I must admit from the picture below I think she looks like Nick (with my dark hair and eyes :)
