Power of a Praying Parent

Power of a Praying Parent

Chapter 3

Securing Protection from Harm

Protection from harm can mean so many different things. Protection against illness/disease, against physical or emotional abuse, against bullies in school or violence. Stormy mentions the verse:

“For He shall give His angels charge over you, to keep you in all your ways. In their hands they shall bear you up, lest you Dash your foot against a stone” Psalm 91:11-12

Pray for Christ to give angels charge over your children, I believe God honors praying the verses in the bible, and I think this is an appropriate verse to pray.

Of course, painful things will happen, but keeping your child covered in prayer will help protect them in the midst of it. It probably wouldn’t hurt to pray for how you may react when something painful does happen. Pray that Christ would give you the courage to turn the situation over to him, to handle it with a calm reassurance, and to have a humble spirit that can accept help from family and friends around you.

“He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress; my God, in Him will I trust.” Psalm 91:1-2

“I will both lie down in peace, and sleep; for You alone, O Lord, make me dwell in safety.” Psalm 4:8

Will you join me in praying for Luke, a little guy that has been sick this past week.  Pray for a speedy recovery back to his happy sweet self.

Check Me Out!

We had Blake's 4 month check up today and the results are in!!

Length:  26 1/4 inches (WOW!!) Babycenter.com says this is above the 95th percentile.

Weight 14 lb 12 oz  this is between 25-50 percentile.

The doctor was impressed with her muscle control and how well she paid attention to him while we were talking.

Blake LOVED all the kids in the waiting room...she flirted and smiled and entertained them :)
She is such a sweet baby....

Nick called while I was at work this weekend exclaiming:  "She loves me!!!"  They love their time together, Blake takes good care of Daddy while I'm gone.

Blake is 4 Months!!

Blake is four months old today! Hooray!

Here's what's going on with her lately:

1.  She loves to roll from her belly to her back.  She thinks it's hilarous and just looooooks at you to see what you think.

2.  Sleeping is getting better, if only I could get her down to a routine during the day, more my fault than anyones.

3.  She loves the exersaucer (sp?) it's a God-send.

4.  We love walks out in the warm weather and playing with the dogs in the back yard, this summer is going to be sooo fun.

Reasons to be happy:

1..Oh, Oh!  My Mom, sister in law and neice and nephew are coming in two weeks to visit, sooo excited!

2.  No more sick baby!

3.  Our taxes are done.

In celebration here are some pics.

This is the exersaucer, it has a sun on it and she will talk to it and laugh, soo sweet.

Poor Baby!

Blake has now had her first cold...well she actually still has it.  I had gotten sick around Thursday, then by Saturday I got a call from Nick while I was at work telling me she was officially sick...fever, runny nose, sneezing, coughing, runny eyes, the whole nine yards.  I knew she would have to get sick eventually, but I still wish we could've gone a little longer.  She is so pitiful.  Sunday night was the hardest, she couldn't rest and had to be walked most of the night.  I think she's feeling a little better today.

Here is Blake Sunday night...

Even when she's sick she's an angel and the best part of my day....

Here are a few pictures from the last few weeks....

Us at build a bear for lexi's birthday....
This is classic! You can't put your face close to her without her trying to eat it!!

she likes to tell daddy how it's going to be :)

Lexi Turns 1!!

Alexis turned one on February 27th.  To celebrate we went to Build-A-Bear.  She had so much fun.
Here are a few of the pic's from the trip.

Later that night she got cake for the first time!

All this birthday excitement can really wear a girl out....
